When Pigasso met Mootisse by Nina Laden

Reviewed by Miss Dewey at Orenda

Boys and girls, do you enjoy drawing? Have you ever heard of the famous artists, Picasso and Matisse? As talented as each artist was, jealousy over the other’s accomplishments destroyed their friendship for many years. With time, they learned to respect each other’s artistic gifts, and their rivalry turned to friendship and support. Pigasso and Mootisse are just the same. When they were rivals, Mootisse called Pigasso an “Art Hog”, and Pigasso said that Mootisse’s paintings looked like “color-by-numbers”. But they, too, learned to get along. That’s what growing up is all about. Miss Dewey thinks you’ll enjoy reading When Pigasso met Mootisse. You’ll learn about famous artists, you’ll feel better about treating others with respect…and you’ll laugh at the silly exploits of this pig and this moose. This is a colorful, fun story with a lesson. Miss Dewey easily awards it 5 paw prints.
Nina Laden has written other books you may enjoy as much as When Pigasso met Mootisse. You can find them on her website: http://www.ninaladen.com/
